I thought I'd share some data sheets for chips
and kits I have.
The 3909 LED blinker boosts 1.5V to 2V (or more) to blink LEDs on only 1 cell.
Needs only 1 external capacitor
I bought this Cordover flasher kit from GEM Electronics long long ago.
Dan Wobser reinvented it as the IXR LED blinkey kit
that intruduced many folks to soldering!

Back when 6V lantern batteries were common
My favorite Radio Shack "Science Fair" kit: 5 blinking neon bulbs!
Built right onto the box, it blinks in sequence or at random
Radio Shack ssi 202 DTMF decoder chip
Radio Shack 5089 DTMF encoder/generator chip
A teeny glass thermister from Professor Costello. Dig that retro vacuum tube logo!
Fenwal is still around, making thermisters for Honeywell.
